Growing up
Posted on November 29, 2007
Many people have said that by growing up, you will have to mature. But it can be said that what we go through in life helps us to mature in our own way. I’ve come to understand this. In a way, I’m growing up in more ways than one.
What am I referring to, I wouldn’t know. But I’ve noticed that I’m thinking more maturely than I would like to think…strange isn’t it? I’ve heard people say that they’d want to be more mature but i seem to want the opposite.
Life seems much simpler as a child. But now I’m 20 and 21 isn’t that far off…I can practically feel the boulders on my shoulder pushing me into the ground. Forcing me to accept this reality. The harsh truth of life. That no one can ever stay as a child…
Weird isn’t it? As I say these words, I can feel 2008 just eagerly waiting in a corner. Planning to jump into my arms before I’m ready to accept it…

Growing up is not as bad as we all imagine. It’s simply a case of the minutes… ours… days… all inching slowly by as we learn new things constantly without ever really knowing it. You do not have to shoulder all the boulders worth of burdens by yourself, That’s what friends and family are for, and if you don’t like the friends you have now, make new ones! Neither do you have to feel “mature” without wanting to… you are what you are, and very cliché I know, but you’re only as old as you want to be…. stay young at heart and you’ll never age unnecessarily
Take each day as it comes, don’t worry too much about future happiness (but of course don’t blunder blindly into everything you do! Haha). You’ll be fine Jess *hugs*
aging!! i dun wan it to happen! haha. i bet a lot of girls agree with me. but it still does happen. at any rate, one should always be content with his/her life as long as he/she can help it. this is the essence of happiness
