Book Clearance Sale
Posted on June 30, 2007
Went to Atria yesterday looking for the “Pay Less Books” shop to find a potential “Beading and Craft” Book.
Found out that “Pay Less Books” went under and isn’t there anymore so decided to go to the top floor bookshop and look. Decided that it’s more of a stationary slash schoolbook shop than a bookstore.
Disappointed, I went down, looking left and right, hoping to find another bookstore. Somehow I looked suspicious and was approached by the security dude in blue.
He asked my destination though I don’t really appreciate the “Ah Moi” part. And I told him my purpose. He pointed out the “Big Bookstore” up on the 3rd floor, I explained that I wanted a DIFFERENT bookstore and he kindly pointed out the book clearance.
Appreciative of his helpfulness, I walked purposeful towards my destination and found the place. Looked and looked I did but even after rounding the place at least 5 times, gave me no results. However, I did manage to snag myself a FEW reading materials.

Five books for only RM 64!!
Book Titles and Authors : (From middle, clockwise)
- Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
- The Journey of Socrates by Dan Miller
- The Geographer’s Library by Jon Fasman
- The Cardinal of Kremlin by Tom Clancy
- The World to Come by Dara Horn
During my book spree, apparently the local radio station, Mix FM was having an event, the event where people rush to a certain spot mentioned by the radio and talk to someone known as the “Mix FM Super Shopper” or something or other. And boy, was I asked MANY times!!
The first few got this response :
“Hi, are you the Mix FM super shopper?”
“Erm…no?”
“Okay, thanks.”
The next dozen or so :
“Hi are you the…”
“No I’m not”
“Oh sorry.”
The few unfortunate ones :
“Hi…”
-Gets mildly irritated at the million of disturbance while trying to browse the cheap books-
“No I’m not. KTHXBAI”
“Oh sorry, thanks.”
And that was the end of my “uneventful” day. Still haven’t got what I want yet…but hey, I got myself something anyways

Do We Care More?
Posted on June 26, 2007
Ever wondered who cared the most? For the first time, today, I have. Why so? Because it was mentioned in class today.
Today in class, the lecturer asked us “Do we care more now or less?” and she asked this regarding the elderly. Thinking on this, I realized I haven’t been doing my side of the work. As a granddaughter and a daughter. As a granddaughter, I haven’t been going to my grandparents’ house during the Sundays like I used to a few years back…I realized that I have been only going there when it benefits me…like Chinese New Year, for example…or when it’s someone’s birthday, like my Grandpa (We usually go out to a restaurant to celebrate). But does this mean I care any less for my grandparents? I don’t think so. I care for them like have always cared for them. If there weren’t any language barrier, I’d bet that we’d get along REALLY well. Can’t really mention the grandparents on my mom’s side…they’re both gone =/
What about my parents? I absolutely love them. No joke there. I might not be the ideal daughter and such but my love for my parents is deeply engraved in me, I don’t think I could have loved them anymore. Yet…when my lecturer told us “The elderly usually opt for going to the elderly homes is usually due to the fact that they’re alone at home because their ofsprings are too busy working in life and they’d get better company at the elderly homes.”
On this, I would say that it works both ways. When the kids are young, the parents would work hard and diligently to provide for the family so that their children would get a good education and so on. After the children have grown up, they in turn would work hard to support THEIR families and the parents so that they’d live a comfortable life and the cycle goes on and on.
But let’s not put any blame on others. I admit, sometimes we tend to see what’s around us and not what’s in front of us. We tend to miss the important things that need to be noticed to putting more importance on immaterial things that would be useless in terms of companionship and friendship and love.
I feel that I’ve neglected lots of stuff since I was a child but there’s no way I can turn the time back and do it over…however, I can take the initiative now to do what is right…yes…I believe it’s time for me to do that, after realizing all the things that have been taken for granted…seriously, I don’t think any of us would be here today without someone to care about us and love us…
Time is a cruel thing. Better to take charge now than put it off until later when you’ll regret…Say “I love you” to people close to you today and everyday…you may not know when those people close to you would leave you to the other plane. By then, regretting just don’t make the cut…

Lost in Assignments
Posted on June 25, 2007
Help!!! I’m (including my group members) are BURIED in mountains of assignments!! In fact, we’re at the stage of NO RETURNS!!
Today itself, we’re already experiencing the “Barney Syndrome” and are going high with insanity =/ it behaves just like drugs would but it’s WAY more effective and LESS harmful to our health.
However, due to my insane urge to stay SANE, has helped me to stay sober…for about 5 seconds…indeed! There are no immediate CURES for this illness UNLESS we finished the assignments…which is not going to happen anytime soon this month.
On another lighter note, I will be making an appearance in the “Digital Mall” in Section 14 this weekend to be seen bargaining for a new desktop/laptop. No people, I STILL have no money, however, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind if I paid it through MONTHLY installments right? Well, I hope so!! And it’ll be BETTER if they wouldn’t charge me interest fee or they’ll be LOSING a valued MASTER CUSTOMER, like me
And back to assignments, I would be busy this whole week getting stuck in University that I won’t be able to go home until evening approaches…hopefully we’ll be able to survive and live to see another semester x_x!!!
Well, I’m out! Time for dinner before the Online Meeting commences!!

Diet Progress – June
Posted on June 24, 2007
After about a month on the “High Protein” diet, I am proud (but not very, just a little bit…) to say that I have dropped around 3-5kgs in the past month. It might seem little to do but let me tell you this.
My diet isn’t a STRICT diet. I eat a high protein diet ONLY when I am at home and that is in the EVENINGS. During luck, I eat like all the other people in the world. Carbs, candy, chocolates, and MORE carbs. And on the weekends, I have food like an average person due to the fact that my mom thinks that I deserved it after “suffering a whole week of no fun food“.
And not only that, I have ONLY just started walking to classes and back home LAST week. So yea, it’s a weak diet but I still lost some
amazing isn’t it? Well I’m glad I did, at least now my mom is convinced that it works, I can continue this half-assed lifestyle
I know, I know, I’m a HORRIBLE daughter!! Leading her mother on like that. Tsk tsk tsk!! Well, what can I say? I might not be doing what my mom thinks I’m doing, but I still lost some didn’t I? So she can’t really complain now, can she?
Damn it…I love being me ^^!!!

Ghost Tunnel
Posted on June 23, 2007

In Japanese with English and Chinese Subtitles
Genre: Horror
Director: Takeshi Furusawa
Cast: Erika Sawajiri, Chinatsu Wakatsuki, Shun Oguri, Aya Sugimoto
RunTime: 1 hr 33 mins
Rating: PG
Synopsis:
High school student Nana is the sole caregiver of her younger sister, Noriko while their mother is in the hospital. Nana’s world suddenly turns upside down when Noriko mysteriously disappears. The only clues Noriko has left are the train pass that she has picked up from the station a day before her disappearance and the dark shadow seen following the young girl on the surveillance footage from the station.
Movie Review:
Are you the kind of people who always tend to sit on the last LRT/KTM/etc (anything to do with trains) home? Are you afraid of the dark? Are you afraid of things that go “Give~it~back~”? Or are you the kind who goes around picking up stuffs around you that you think isn’t trash?
If you’re all of the above, I don’t suggest you to watch this movie because, like all the Japanese made movies, this movie revolves (The Japanese have a knack of scaring us with stuff we usually corporate into our lives daily, such as toilets, closets and so on) around trains, or to put it into perspective, underground trains.
This show begins when a young boy happened to pick up a train pass and became cursed by the owner and was told to “Give~it~back!!” and will die and so on and so forth.
Basically, not to destroy the plot. I’ll just talk about what I like or didn’t like about it. Before that, let me just entertain you with a few on screen clips that was in the movie.

So what did I like or don’t like about it? I like that the ghosts actually DID kill some people, I like the part where the ghosts seem really ghastly, I like the part where the director made you wait in suspense and nothing happens at one point and then “BOO” in an expectedly expected moment, I like the part where they made it so that the scariest moment is when it’s the VERY LAST TRAIN of the day!! Love the fact that it now teaches people NEVER to pick up ANYTHING!!
What I didn’t like was that of all the people who died, she (not gonna tell you who SHE is bwahahahaha) didn’t REALLY die o_O!!! I didn’t like the fact that it’s very anticlimactic at the very end of the story. I didn’t like the fact that it involves trains (afraid to commute in the dead of the night now.), I didn’t like the special effects at the end of the show (They probably rushed it at the end =/).
All in all, not a bad movie. I’d give it a 7/10 for a rating.

Posted on June 23, 2007
A boring lecture day eventually helped create a new series of “stickman” turned “wireman“. No idea what I (we) were doing actually…it was a random thing during “Research Methods and Techniques” class. No one was really paying attention in class, in fact, we were almost brain dead…

I’m BACK!!
Posted on June 22, 2007
“Honey~! I’m HOME~!!!”
Yes! That is definitely how I feel after the initial excitement of :
“OMGWTFBBQ I HAVE MY BLOG BACK!! ~!@#$%^&*()_+!!!”
Yea, that was DEFINITELY what I felt like doing when the blog came back. So much so that I freaked myself out xD
Anyways, why was my blog gone for…about a week? Well, the thing is, the Chrix’s (the one who got me the former webhost) webhoster’s webhost pulled the plug on the webserver thus severing all ties to the webhost and in turn, killing off my website, blog, server website and server forums.
And just like that, I was deprived of my blog and all things connected to it…it was a SAD, SAD day cause at the same time, my computer fell apart and just wouldn’t get back up again…so now I’m saving up to get myself a new computer/laptop. And I predict that it’s going to take a long, long, long time…seeing as how I only get RM50 per week =/
Assuming that a desktop/laptop costs about RM3000 (Better to take 3000 as a minimum amount so I won’t get disappointed when prices go up
), it’ll take me at least 60 weeks to collect that much, in other words, it’ll take about…15 months to accomplish this…however this is only assuming that every month has only 4 weeks and that I don’t ever go out for 15 months and never ever spend a penny x_x!!! On the other hand, I could get a really good diet plan and be slim and stuff by 15 months (more like a skeleton >_>;;)
So yea, anyone wanna give me a high paying part-time (Saturdays and Sundays only) job? Or perhaps…donate to a unfortunate girl like me? I would so love you if you gave me any of the above *_*!!!

A Serious Case of Blogivitis!!
Posted on June 13, 2007
After many months of not surfing other blogs, I went and replied in 5Xmom’s blog and after replying, I scrolled up a bit and I saw…THIS!!
I tag – The first five who comment. Hey, it is good reflections, so faster faster take it up. Name 10 things that proof that you are so into blogging.
Apa pulak ni!! I should have seen that before becoming the FIRST person to comment in the post D: but what is done is done, yea? I guess so…=/
So the rule is to name 10 things that proves that I am SO INTO blogging…lemme think…
(1)
I have 2 blogs that I am STILL currently using. But I can never blog in both. Whenever I blog in one of the blogs, I’ll get addicted to blogging in that blog for a certain amount of time and then switch to the second when it’s about to wear off. That’s how into blogging I am. So much so that I wouldn’t want to lose to “love”
(2)
When my friend, [Chrix] told me he can get me a free host for my blogging pleasure. I giggled like a little girl, my fingers itched to blog and my head was feeling up with ideas of what to write about. (Did I mention that my host gives me UNLIMITED diskspace and UNLIMITED bandwidth and that it’s FREE FOR LIFE?! No? Well it is
)
(3)
I am constantly online and logged into my blog every minute of the day as well as my email. Why? So that I can just post whenever I feel that I should write something and I’m constantly waiting for comments on my blog cause somehow or other, spams keeps getting past security.
(4)
I wrote this article.
(5)
I tend to take pictures all day long when I see something interesting that somehow never appears in my blog due to a MORE important, significant and interesting post I prefer to write about, holding off on the post I originally wanted to write about. When I don’t blog due to lack of internet, I play with my kitties and take pictures of both Max and Carat so that I can show them off in my blog when I get my internet back.
(6)
Whenever I got free time in University, first thing I do is check my blog in the computer labs and make NEW posts
(7)
When I don’t blog, I usually check my rankings, check for money-blogging opportunities and secretly worrying that I might have lost my touch in blogging and that my stats would drop to a ZERO. -Shivers!- TOUCH WOOD!!!
(8)
I prefer my blog over many other people in my life.
(9)
I think of my blog as a asset and would will it off to my children in the future when I die.
(10)
When I say read my blog, you READ MY BLOG!!
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Now I would like to tag…NO ONE in particular!! >D Sorry people, the line will not end with me. However you are welcome to do this tag and just go nuts
To tell you the truth, I’m too sleepy to think of anyone to tag lol. So be happy for a while until the next time I find myself tagged cause I forgot to read the “I’m not tagging anyone…just the people who happens to come through this blog and commented!!

Case Studies : Blog Addiction-Withdrawal Syndrome
Posted on June 13, 2007
Brief Explanation
Blog Addiction is when normal individuals with penned-up emotions deal in the higher power of “Journal Writing“ where these individuals not only write their personal feelings into a electrical device called the “Computer” and transfer it into the online journal called a “Blog” and allows strangers to read their inner most darkest feelings. Blog Addiction occurs when these individuals, “Bloggers“, are finding a hard time getting off their “blogging device” and is unable to stop “blogging” for a certain amount of time. This term was discovered when time began and people started “blogging“.
It may be seen as a normal behavior since it resembles more of a child playing with their new toy. However, new toys will only last so long. Eventually all good things comes to an end. These blogging individuals would eventually fall prey to the Blog Addiction Withdrawal Syndrome..
Causes
Blog Addiction-Withdrawal Syndrome, commonly known as the Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow Procrastinators is a very common disease that with the increasing amount of bloggers appearing on the online scene, the rate of these blog-victims are increasing as this report is being done. It can result to physical and mental weakening, and destruction of families and relationships around the blogger.
Although these Bloggers with this syndrome are often seen as procrastinators, only a minority of them are really dedicated to their blogs. And it is also these group of people that suffer the most while the rest are just blog spammers.
Physical and Mental weakening includes irritability, anxiety and insomnia after the blogger has stopped writing articles for their blog. Destruction of families and relationships are caused when the blogger goes back into a withdrawn state where they feel a need to pent up their thoughts and emotions causing those around the blogger to keep their distance.
Blog Addiction-Withdrawal Syndrome are commonly found in almost every blogger in the world and even blogders (Blog Readers) which is becoming increasingly common.
Symptoms
- Irritability;
- Anxiety;
- Insomnia;
- Blog Craving;
- Obsessive Compulsive Behavior towards real life events;
- Subconsciously writing in a diary;
- Withdrawal towards real life situations;
- Distances from family and friends;
- Consistently staring at the monitor;
- Fingers are constantly tapping on any surface available.
- Often goes “He said, open quotation mark, bold, italic, he loves me, unitalic, unbold, close quotation mark”.
Diagnosis
Obsessivecompulsiveometer (OCM) as well as the Addictiveogram (AG) is needed to examine the level of addiction and the withdrawal of the blogger. It may show the level as to which the blogger is at with levels between sanity and insanity.
Treatment
There are a few treatments available to cure this syndrome :
- Buy a stress ball and finger it.
- Get a “How to NOT get Blog Addiction-Withdrawal Syndrome for Dummies”‘ guide.
- Get rid of the computer and anything to do with it and migrate to the mountains and live as a hermit.
- Re-blog again.
- Go for rehabilitation.
- See a psychiatrist or a psychologist
And if those does not work for you at all, well you just need a dosage of “You-shouldn’t-have-blog-in-the-first-place-if-you-can’t-handle-it“ pills or perhaps a whack in the head with our “It-looks-like-a-hammer-but-it’s-scientifically-an-amnesia-tool“.
Disclaimer :
